What is the Certified California Bred Program?
California pork producers created the CCBP to help maintain, secure, and promote swine exhibitor participation in our state while increasing demand for California bred barrows.
Who is Eligible to Participate?
Individuals and farms breeding show pigs in California for youth exhibitors to show at the California Youth Ag Expo and California County Fairs and Festivals. Producers must be a member of the California Pork Producers Association to be a CCBP member.

What is the Cost of Participation?
Cost is dependent on the number of sows per producer:
Small – 1-5 sows: $250, Medium – 6-20 sows: $500, Large – 21+ sows: $750 and Junior Producers (ages 18 and under up to five sows): $25 per sow.
Fees: We want every penny of your membership dues to go to the youth exhibitors. Therefore, a 3% online convenience fee will be applied to all credit card transactions. Individuals wishing to pay via check can contact mackenzie@calpork.com to register and submit payment via check.
What will the Money Collected Support?
All money collected for the CCBP program will go directly back to supporting youth barrow exhibitors at the California Youth Ag Expo and California County Fair and Festival Champion Barrows.
How will Breeders Be Recognized?
Participating breeders will be recognized at the annual meetings this fall as well as on social media and other promotional information.
Can I Support the Certified California Bred Program if I am not a Breeder?
Absolutely, all money collected through breeder participation or donations will only further the impact of the CCBP program for youth exhibitors.
